The Orientation Programme is compulsory for all to attend.Only on production of an application with valid reason may the student be exempted from attending the same.
Also the tests mentioned in the medical form are required.And so are the vaccinations i.e. it is compulsory to have those vaccines failing which will lead you to be “Provisionally Admitted”

Bhubaneswar is well connected by Airways and Railways.And i guess most of you would have booked your tickets by now.Anyways considering feasibility and demand we are going have help desks and bus services in the Railway Station only.

Tentative Timings: 0300 hrs to 2100 hrs
IIT Bhubaneswar officials will be there to help you out and ferry you off to the hostel.On reaching the hostels kindly go to the Hostel office(tentatively at Balmiki-2 Flat No.-103) and submit your filled Hostel Proforma and complete the necessary procedure and take over your keys to your room.Feel free to ask any queries to any of the officials and student representatives.
In case you arrive at an odd time, when there is no help desk no need to panic.Follow the instructions below:
For Railway Station: You may go to the auto stand or the taxi stand and ask them to take you to the hostel address.Don't pay more than Rs 50-70 for autos and Rs100-150 for taxi(bargain for better deals).Though i would recommend autos they are easily available quick and competitive.
For Airport: There is a good enough taxi stand there with a taxi union having fixed rates/prepaid taxi service to drop off at any location in Bhubaneswar.
We will try to inform the taxi and auto unions of the IIT Bhubaneswar hostel still write down the following address of the hostel in a piece of paper accurately.

If you arrive on the Registration Date and within 1-2 hrs of registration timing i.e. say about 2 hrs before 09:00 am something around after 07:00 am then it would be advisable to directly come to the IIT Bhubaneswar Campus.You can go to the hostel after registration.

For 1st Year Registration on 16th July 2009
1. Following documents are needed to bring by the students at the time of Registration.
a. Offer Letter
b. JEE Admit card
c. Money Receipt for the deposit of Rs.15,000/-for General and Rs.8,000/-for SC/ST/PD made on the day of counseling.
d. Educational Certificates(10th/10+2)
e. Bio data Form (completed Annexure-1)
f. 6 copies of stamp size photographs
g. Guardian ‘s Undertaking and Students’ Undertaking Form (Annexure-II)
h. Medical Certificates (Annexure-III)
i. Demand draft favouring “IIT Bhubaneswar “ payable at Bhubaneswar
j. Completed payment slip
NB:Please note that not bringing any of the above documents would lead to provisional admission.So,better be and safe side and bring everything more than whats asked for..
For 2nd Year Registration on 20th July 2009
For the Registration Process of 2nd Year Students:
a. Completed Payment Slip
b. Demand draft favouring “IIT Bhubaneswar” payable at Bhubaneswar
In addition to all these you also need to bring the hostel proforma uploaded on the notice board section of the website www.iitbbs.ac.in and submit it in the Hostel Office at the time of Check-in.
